EVEN THOUGH the Los Angeles Times dismissed the March 15 anti-war rally in Los Angeles with a photo and caption stating that only 2,000 had attended, the crowd filled more than one city block, ending at the high rise headquarters of CNN.
Speaking onstage was James Lafferty of the National Lawyers Guild who explained: “We’re here in front of CNN because of its shameful behavior in ignoring the anti-war movement. It would be good if CNN went beyond the sound bites of presidential candidates and demanded answers about their real plans for Iraq.”
The crowd chanted “CNN Can’t You See, Show This Protest on TV” in response to Lafferty’s claim: “Cinton and Obama won’t pull out of Iraq until their Wall Street backers control Iraq’s oil.”
Actor Mike Farrell called for the U.S. to be taken back from the liars and thieves who are in control. “George Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Douglas Feith and all the liars should be stripped and forced to walk naked in every town and hamlet in the U.S.—and then they should be forced to walk through Iraq.”
